Little House ATC

Today I stepped away from Halloween for a bit (crazy, but true!) to make an ATC for a friend.  The theme of this swap was to create an interactive ATC.  Tracy likes little houses so this was a no-brainer for me.  I channeled my muse from when I created this similar ATC a while ago.

I used all kinds of bits and pieces from my stash: bingo paper, raffle ticket (that my son brought home and I, of course, kept), gelli plate scrap, phone book page, school newsletter...  I love finding ways to use the junk I can't bear to throw away.  :)

I hope she likes it.  I think she will!

Wicked Wednesday: Black & Orange ATC

I know, crazy huh?  Posting again!  This time I'm sharing an ATC I made for the Wicked Wednesday challenge this week - Black & Orange.  Perusing Pinterest I saw these awesome articulated paper dolls by Ten Two Studios.  I had to get them for this ATC.  Had to.

I started by covering cardstock with a bunch of grid tape (from 7Gypsies).  After that I painted over it with Distress paints.  I really like the subtle texture and pattern you can glimpse through the paint.

I overstamped the background with a spiderweb stamp and some bats.  My bat girl is layered with her head and hair raised off the background with dimensional foam tape.  I added some shine to her lips and eyes and some glitter to her hair.  (So far) the ATC is finished off with a stamped ruler border strip.

I keep thinking she might need one more thing, but am stymied at this point.  Thoughts, comments, suggestions?  Thanks!

Salt & Watercolor Backgrounds

I've haven't used this technique in a long time but it was the theme this month for a group I'm in.  Salt sprinkled over wet watercolors (or Distress inks or Dylusions, etc.) makes the coolest effect.  Try it!

Creepy Postcards for VLVS

Mwah-ha-ha!  What wickedly wonderful delights will soon be gracing the doorstep of Ms. DeeDee Catron.  I made these postcards for the VLVS Fall Harvest swap over on Facebook.  As luck would have it, they fit nicely with the inspiration photo over at the VLVS blog this month too.  Wah-la!

October 1st...time to decorate for Halloween!!
